DESCENDANTS OF ERNST RAVEN, SR.

Very little is known about the background of Ernst Raven, Sr; however, we do know that  Ernst Raven, Sr. was the royal bookbinder to the royal family of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, and the position was passed to his son, Ernst, who continued the book manufacturing profession in Gotha and later in Texas.

 Ernst Sr. was born in 1778 in Hanover, Prussia and married Charlotte Luederssen about 1803. Charlotte was born in 1782 in Hanover, Prussia. The date of death of  both Ernst Sr. and Charlotte are unknown.
